ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, July 1. John Edward Jenkinson, aged 22, was charged with attempting to murder his wife, also that he assaulted his wife, causing actual bodily harm by cutting her throat with a razor. Sergeant Rawle said he understood that the wife’s condition was not very serious. It was alleged that she was with her child when Jenkinson slashed her? throat with s razor. The accused was of a violent nature. The second charge was withdrawn. On the other the accused was remanded to July 8 without bail.
