RABBIT SKINS
WELLINGTON SALE. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 22. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Company report: There was a fair attendance of buyers, both local and Dunedin, at our furred skin sale yesterday. Bidding was spirited and competition for all grades was good. In sympathy wilh a decline in the recent Dunedin sale prices paid were a shade easier, but the whole of our offering was disposed of at rates that should prove very satisfactory to vendors. Our catalogue contained more than three times the quantity offered last month, but a rather disappointing feature was the poor quality of skins. The mild season experienced has no doubt been responsible for a lightness of the fur and a large proportion of badly-spotted skins. Our next Wellington furred sale is set down for Friday, July 25. The following range represents the prices obtained for well-stretched and well-got-up skins: Runners and suckers, 18d to 22}d; light racks, 31 Id; summers, 29£d to 30d; heavy racks, 32|d; dawny autumns, 35£d; early autumns., 40id to 42d; late autumns, 43id to 45d; prime winter bucks, 7 7 id; prime winter does, 77id; winter bucks, 76d; winter does, 67|d; incoming winters, 60d; early winters, 6 7id to CBid; autumn broken, 32id; summer blacks.. 30d; autumn blacks 38id; winter blacks, 74d to 80d.
