INFECTIOUS DISEASES
ACCOMMODATION AT DUNEDIN. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 26. Dr. Watt, Deputy-Director-General of Health, met the Hospital Board in reference to accommodation for infecti ous cases,; urging the necessity for further provision, Otago’s present provision being a little over five per cent, per thousand of population, to the Dominion’s average of eight. The position is made worse by the accommodation being scattered over these institutions. The chairman, Mr. Knight, stressed the Board’s financial position, consequent upon the Government’s blunder over the separation of South Otago. Dunedin contributed four-sevenths of the total district levy. The matter was referred to the finance committee.
