1 ‘Are Negroes Worth Saving?” Heat Rev. W. W. Avery, late of New Guinea, Trinity Methodist Church, Sunday night, and Mr, Priestley, Sudan Mission in the mornigg. The Rev. E. T. Cox, M.A., speaks at. Gonville in the morning and the Rev. W. T. Hooper at night. The “Campaign Services” at the Ingestre St. Baptist Church are being well sustained in point of interest and attendance. Last Sunday the church was well filled and the singing of the young men’s choir was much appreci ated. On Sunday the usual choir of 3( voices will lead the singing under th< conductor, Mr. R. Jenkins. Th< preacher at both services will be th< Rev. Stanlev Jenkin.
At Knox Church, Gonville, a spccia. - song service will be held on 29th inst. beginning at 7 p.m. A large choir wil* I lead the singing, the music being principally from the Church Hymnary. Members of the choir will sing a quartette and a duet, while Miss McKinna will sing a solo. A hearty welcome it extended to all.
The recent granting of independence to Egypt and the claim of Egypt tc control the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan raises several very acute questions. The Sudan United Mission has ten New Zealanders on its staff, and the aim and work of this united world-wide mis sion will be dealt with in sermons and lecture by Mr. J. Priestley, Dominion secretary, during this week-end, as per our advertising columns. Mr. Priestley has a number ’of recent pictures of nn tive life in the Sudan and a stirring story of pioneer missionary work 200( miles up the Nile.
