MANAWATU RABBIT BOARD
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Manawatu Rabbit Board was held in the County office, Sanson, on Thursday. Mr. B. G. Gower presided, all of the members being present. The returning officer reported that the poll taken on the proposal to rate on an acreage basis had been carried. It was resolved as follows: —“That notice be given that it is the intention of the board to make and levy a rate of twopence per acre on all rateable property in the district.” “That the chairman and Trustee Barber be empowered to make arrangements for office accommodation at. Foxton.” “That Mr. Roovc, Rangihuia, be appointed secretary to the Board.” The committee set up to classify applications for the position of inspector to the Board, reported that 120 applications had been received. Of these 11 had been picked out and would be sent to the Department for a report. The question will be further considered at the next meeting of the Board, and an appointment will then be made.
