A MATTER OF URGENCY LONDON, May 7. It is understood that wueu too Cabinet Committee’s report regarding wireless is published at the end of the week it wil reveal that the Government decided as a matter of urgency to create an Empire wireless chain. It is stated on high authority that Cabinet has found a solution of the long standing difficulties between the Post Office and the Marconi Company, enabling work to be begun without delay in the construction of stations throughout the Empire. The commercial necessity for speedier communication was not the sole factor in influencing the Government’s decision. Thq outspoken comments of Dominion newspapers regarding the Government's attitude regarding Preference and the Singapore base also had an effect, and Mr. MacDonald was anxious for warmer and more cordial relations.
