HIS MAJESTY’S “WEE MaeGREGOR’S SWEETHEART.” A well-lilled theatre greeted “Wee MacGregor’s Sweetheart,’’ a British production, now showing at His Majesty’s. "Wee MacGregor’s Sweet heart” starring Betty Balfour of “Squibs” fame is the type of picture, which clepicts various characters, bringing out their different traits, and linking them together by a story, which is sure to be popular; it is a change and possesses the charm of introducing ordinary people in a most effective way. The appeal is varied. There Is humour in Christina’s early youth, which is apt to get somewhat boisterous but which nevertheless will evoke really hearty laughter. There is honest sentiment in the piother’s love for her boy, which is touched on with a sympathetic, and light hand, and in the deep feeling of the “calf love” of boy and girl. Moreover, the scenes are picturesque and form a background to the general charm of the picture. The supports-are excellent, being numerous and instructive; they included a comedy “Hazel of Hollywood.” the latest Gazette and Topical Budget as well as a scenic and an industrial film. Mr. R. W. Haddow gave a very pleasing exhibition of Highland dancing to the accompaniment of music supplied by Pipc-ihajor R. Thomson, of the Wanganui Pipe Band. Prior to the picture entertainment the Wanganui Pipe Band played some stirring Highland music which was much appreciated.
