BURNSIDE RAM FAIR
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 27. More traq passing interest was taken in the annual ram fair, which was held at Burnside saleyards to-day. This was to some exteut due to the increasing interest which is being taken in wool growing, prompted by the high prices ruling for wool at the present time. There was a falling off in Corriedales, but witr that exception, all other breeds were increasingly represented. This applied to the Romney Marsh am| Border-Leicester breeds. Quality generally was somewhat better than last year, and it yas noticeable that competition was keenest for best quality sheep. Flock rams were iu keenest demand, and this applied most particularly to Romneys, demand being particularly good for well built, well grown, and well wowolled sorts of this breed. Up to 15| guineas was paid for a pen of three one-shear rams vended by Mr John Lockhead, of Kaitangata. The entry of flock Border Leicesters seemed to be in excess of demand, and passings were giCaeral before the close of the sale. The sale of stud rams was not guite so satisfactory as was that of flock rams. Stud Romneys brought from 11 guineas to 32 guineas, stud BorderLeicesters from 7 guineas to 164 guineas; Corriedales from 11 guineas to 31 guineas. Top prices for studs were—Romneys, 38 guineas; BorderLeicesters, 164 guineas; Corriedales, 31 guineas. Stud rams—Romney Marsh, 11 guineas to 38 guineas; Border-Lei-cesters, 7 guineas to 164 guineas; Corriedales, 11 guineas to 31 guineas. Flock rams—Romney Marsh, 34 guineas to 8 guineas; Border-Leicester, 3| guineas to 10 guineas; l Corriedales, 44 guineas to 104 guineas.
