SWANKERS’ CLUB
The entertainment committee of Swankers’ Club has gone thoroughly into the question of providing more entertainments for their members, and it has been decided to adopt the procedure of a Savage Club, holding fortnightly meetings of members at which enjoyable musical and elocutionary items will be presented. These evenings will go a long jvay towards bringing the members into touch with one another, and" as the membership of the club is a large one, including most of the leading local artists, should result in a fine fraternal spirit of good fellowship being displayed. The opening night will be held towards the end of April, and it is hoped that the Wellington Savage Club will send a tear® to open the local club. It might be added that as the membership of the Swankers’ Club includes a large number of ladies, the executive intend to hold frequent ladies’ nights similar to the successful functions held last year. Arrangements have been decided upon which will ensure that these functions will be self-supporting, financial members of the club will receive circulars explaining the proposal at an early date.
