THOSE SCANDALS
WASHINGTON, March 25. The House of Representatives having concluded major legislation, succumbed to the prevailing inquisitorial mood. It unanimously adopted resolutions to investigate charges of bond duplication in the bureau engraving printing, and allegations that aircraft manufacturers charged the Government excessive prices. Democratic leaders conlidently expect that disclosures will, in the forthcoming elections, increase the Republicans’ embarrassment.
Observers meanwhile declare that the fifteen Congressional inquiries into various irregularities which, are now proceeding constitute the maximum ever achieved in any session, and admit they virtually all have sound bases in fact.
