OBITUARY

MR J. DONALDSON. EX-MEMBER BOROUGH COUNCIL. The death occurred yesterday at Auckland of Mr J. Donaldson, an exmember of the Wanganui Borough Council. At a. meeting of the Borough Council held last night reference was made to his death. Cr. Gohns moved that a telegram of condoloßce be sent to the relatives in Auckland. He said that councillors may have differed with the late Mr Donaldson, but he always did what he considered was right.* Cr. Burgess seconded the motion. Cr. Burnett expressed great regret at the sad news and referred to the excellent work done by the late Mr Donaldson, who the speaker considered was one of the most fearless men who had sat at the table, and whose honesty of purpose was never questioned. The chairman (Cr. J. C. Richardson) also expressed his sorrow at the news. The motion was carried in silence.
