ANNUAL SCHOOL MATCH WELLINGTON COLLEGE v. WANGAN I I COLLEGIATE LOCAL ELEVEN IN GOOD POSITION A start was made ar 1 y o’clock yesterday morning with the Wan gantii Collegia* e Schoo!—Wellington College match. The weatner was fine. and the .vicket, after the heavy showers pf the preceding day. was dead and the outfield slow. An improvement )n both the pitch and the outfield Jvas noticeable. The visitors had first strike, and ’ in being dismissed for 83 they only followed the lead of several other Rants who have failed to reach the three-figure mark on the School ground. Wanganui replied with 120. giving them an advantage of 37 tv ns. In their second innings Wellington I fared better, principally through a | good knock by Fitzmaurice. and \ their scoring ceased at 107, leaving Wanganui 71 runs required to win.
