Mr Chas. Gibbons, president of the Marton Miniature Rifle Club, addressed the boys, and congratulated them on forming a club, and on behalf of his club offered to assist them in every possible way. The name of the club is the 46th Senior Cadets Miniature Rifle Club. SENIOR CADETS AT WORK. An invitation by Sergt.-Major Davis, D.C.M., to attend the senior Cadets’ parade at Marton on Wednesday evening was accepted by the writer, and he was agreeably surprised at the big muster of 52 rank and tile that fell in. The company was put through a number of movements, wnich were carried out wttu a precision that would do credit to any brunch of this worthy movement. A number of physical exercises were also indulged in, whicn should prove of great benefit to the ' youths ou parade in developing their muscle and lung power. A game of hand soccer between picked teams proved exciting, and the whole-heart-ed manner in which the boys entered into the spirit of the work allotted them should prove very beneficial. Sergt.-Major Davis is very keen in his efforts to instil into the minds of his company the desirability of attending parades in clean and bright uniforms, and in presenting a soldierlike appearance when on parade. There is no doubt that the boys have shown a decided improvement under his tuition, and as he has the happy knack of interspersing drill with sport and exercise the boys find pleasure in answering their names at roll call. A hearty invitation is extended publicly to the parents or friends of the boys to witness the Cadets at work and play. NEWS.
