SUCCESS OF AUSTRALIANS.

Received July 5, 9.5 p.m. GOTHENBURG, July 4. At the Swedish games Carr, of Australia, won the final of the two hundred metres by three metres in 21 9-10 secs. Hoiiben, Germany, was second in 22 3-10 secs., and Drison, Finland, third. Carr got a perfect start, and striding wonderfully, won comfortably. Finland won the team running final of the 1600 metres relay in 199 3-10 secs., with Germany second and Sweden third, and. Rowling, MacMillan, Gale and Carr (Australia) fourth, vide (Sweden) created a new world’s record for the 3000 metres, m 510 2-5 secs. Hoft (Norway) established a world’s record for the pole jump, 420 centime.res. The meeting finished with the Sweden championship, of which the winner was Finland, second Germany.
