N.Z TROTTING ASSOCIATION

(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 17. v At a meeting of the board of the Xew Zealand 'I rotting Association the special committee appointed to confer with the executive of the New Zealand Trotting Conference reported that a meeting had been held, when the following resolutions had been arrived at (1) Regarding American records that this meeting of the executive of the Trotting Conference and a special committee from the association, is of opinion that “Fincup’- records or breeders’ records in America should not be taken into account by handicappers in NewZealand, and that the necessary amendment to the rules so as to bring them into conformity with this resolution be left with the president, to confer with the association and bring them forward as notices of motion for next annual conference.

(2) Regarding the timing of foreign horses, it was resolved that the Foreign Horse Committee of the association be asked, before granting registration of foreign horses, to obtain not only the official winning times, but also satisfactory evidence to the Foreign Horse Committee as to the placed performances, i.e. of the official time for the first horse and the judge’s placings, with the estimated distance between the placed horses, also the size of the track upon which the performance was registered, and the state of the course—heavy going or otherwise The branding of horses was another matter discussed, and it was decided to recommend to the association that the rize of the brand decided upon for branding horses be reduced. It was decided to accept the recommendation of the joint committee ir. regard to the size c.f he brand. It was decided that all horses exported should be branded on the off-side of the neck.
