MARIST CLUB NOTES

A very enthusiastic meeting was held on Monday night last, when the medals donated were allotted as follows - Seniors: Mrs T. P. Souter’s medal for beet all-round back; Rev. F ather Mahoney’s medal for best all-round forward. Third grade: Miss Kennedy’s medal for best all-round player. Fourths : Mr E. Crotty's medal for best all-round t player Mr B McCarthy s medal for the juniors has yet to be decided by the donor.

Cosgrove/ an Auckland rep. forward, will niav break-awav for Marist, who also nave a hefty Ftrattord senior in Dug Hall. Ihe seniors play Marton at Marton to-day, and at Rata next Saturday, when ail new players are to be given a game. Any new player's name omitted from the paper will get a game by turning up. The Marist thirds and fourths promise to be very strong this season, while the juniors are a very formidable lot. Any new members are asked to hand in their names to play in the try-out games before the competitions start. Mr Nolan, the official trainer, has his gym. open for training purposes every Monday and Wednesday evenings at < .00, when every member must make a point of being present. Pat Hogan, Cosgrove and C. Greener are not available tor Marton to-day. Palmer is getting in solid training over the river, and promises to be very fit. Durie Hill steps are good training. Other players please note ’
