HIS MAJESTY«.
A NEW PROGRAMME FOR ONE N’JGHT ONLY.
Owing to the special attraction “The Mark of Zorro” breaking in on the week, the usual programme can be shown for one night only at His Majesty’s Theatre. Commencing at 7.4 5 to-n.ght there will be screened a double feature programme that promises to be of high merit. Sir Arthur W. Pinero’s well-known play “The Profligate” has been adapted to the screen under the title of “The Truth About Husbands,” and is a fine dramat.c offering with several strong situations. Anna Lehr, May McAvoy and a strong cast have been selected, and produced by the First National Corporation a finished production is assured. The story in brief deals with the d.fiillusioninent of a young wife when brought face to face with an incident in her husband’s past life.
Of a different nature is “The Love Call” with the dainty little comedienne Billie Rhodes. A cow-girl who is sent to a college to be educated finds she does not fit in With her surroundings and she answers the call of her cow-boy lover and goes to the West that she loves. Some exciting rough riding and fighting, as well as many amusing scenes make this a most acceptable story. Good supporting films w'.Hl also be shown. For the week-end, comencing Thursday, the management announces the first of the Selznick pictures recently secured, “The Way of a Maid,” with the clever star Elaine Kammerstein in the leading role. These pictures are noted for the complete and finished productions, and a special claim is made that the story .s always the main consideration, and in the picture to be presented tomorrow' a most interesting story is told. A second feature will be “A Red Hot Romance,” described as a burlesque on the heroic love stones of the “Prisoner of Zenda” type, with Anita Loos and John Emerson In ihe lead. Full of laughable situations and clever acting “A Red Hot Romance” is probably the smartest contribution to the screen. For the matinee on Saturday a popular addition will be made to the programme, the first episode of the wild animal serial “The Adventures of Tarzan” and a Charlie Chaplin comedy will be screened. As this combination will be continued for fifteen weeks, the Satuiday matitnee at His Majesty’s should prove popular to the boys and girls as well as to adults. A special prize competition is being arranged in connection with the serai.
