BREACH OF PROMISE.

£2OO DAMAGES AWARDED. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 11. Damages for £3OO for breach of promise were sought in the Supreme Court against David Robertson, a driver, who did not defend the action. It was stated that an intimacy had occurred, plaintiff’s future prospects of marriage being seriously prejudiced by her present condition. Mr. Justice Herdman said the claim was accentuated by the fact that misconduct took place under the promise of marriage. The jury awarded £2OO damages.
