GREATER WANGANUI.

Judging by the unanimity of last night’s conference the consummation of the long-cherished idea of a Greater Wanganui should be achieved in the very near future. The enthusiasm of the speakers, borough and suburban, reflected the whole tone of the conference; and the recorded resolutions gave complete and unqualified endorsement of the proposed amalgamation. It now only remains for the borough and suburban ratepayers to place the hall-mark of constitutional approval on the considered judgment of their responsible representatives. That they will do so just so soon as the opportunity is afforded them may, we think, be taken for granted.
