£40 FIRST PRIZE.

CONTEST CLOSES ON TUESDAY. What is the question that a number of people are asking themselves at the present time? It can be answered in many ways, but for those who can supply the most original and cleverest answer (in the opinion of the adiudicators) a handsbrne first prize of £4O will be given. Details are advertised in this issue. In all £55 in prize money is to be distributed. 'There is an old saying; “ Do not put off till to-morrow what can be done to-day!” This applies with considerable force to the big £55 Put’ and Take competition. There are now only three more days in which to send in entries in accordance with the insTructions published in another part of this issue. “How can I do good?” It’s the essence of simplicity, for there are thousands of ways that everybody can do good. 'Think of a five-word phrase answering that question, and place yourself in the running for the first prize of £4O. But write it down as soon as you think of it, otherwise it is sure to be forgotten.

Entries must be posted to the Secretary, Big Swill Contest Box 377, Wanganui, not later than Tuesday next.
