Received July 13, 11.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, July 12. Mr Mackenzie King and Mr Graham, Canadian Premiet and Minister ol Defence, respectively, called on Mr Hughes. I hey also met Messrs Hoover, Weeks, Mellow and other luembcrs »1 the United States Cabinet and talked with Senators. Mr King proposed that the century-old Rush-Bugol Treaty, inintiwg armaments on the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes, be modernised and put in the form ol a new permanent treaty. He said he wanted to see a new treaty. It would be an outstanding landmark in treaties of goodwill and friendship between nations, and aji expression of the negation of armaments.
