RE-ARRANGE YOUR ROOMS TO CHEER YOURSELF UP. The little, unexpected things in life have a very great effect upon our health. Health can be injured or repaired by the use of colour with the result that we are told to pay particular attention to the colour of our wallpapers and such like. But not only must attention be paid colour in the home, we must also give some of our thought to the arrangement of the furniture. In the first place there is nothing more injurious to the health than monotony, and monotony in the home is on© of the causes of bad temper, and bad temper in its turn is the enemy of good health. When a. room has been furnished in a particular manner for a number of years, the effect upon the eyes of those who live in it becomes monotonous. This feeling of monotony is communicated by the eye to the brain, and that feeling is spread all over the body by the nerves. The modern housewife who values her own health as well as the health of the family, contrives, in order to dispel this sense of depression in the home, occasionally to re-arrange the furniture in order to give a new aspect to the room. And it is remarkable what a tonic such little changes are. They create a new impression on the mind—a sense of freshness which unconsciously exhilarates and pleases.
