THE WEATHER.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 14. Present indications are for strong west to south-west winds, squally at times, in Cook and Foveaux Straits, weather changeable and showery, especially on the West Coast and southern districts. Barometer unsteady, rising everywhere soon. CLEMENT WRAGGE S FORECAST. (By Telegraph.) Special to “Chronicle.”) AUCKLAND, March 14. Forecast for seven days.— Antarctic depression is passing south, yet its northern and western edges are likely to cause unsettled weather with some rain with winds from between N.N.W. and W., later veering southerly. Meantime, fine to cloudy. The disturbance may have a second centre of energy, but conditions should become more stable by the end of the period; sea moderate but roughish south from Cape Farewell.
