“BITS AND PIECES.”
ENGLISH PIERROTS AT THE OPERA HOUSE. Despite the atrocious weather last evening, there was a good audience at the Opera House, where the English Pierrots, in their “ Bits, and Pieces,” gave another of their most delightful entertainments. There always has been a subtle charm about the English Pierrots, and to-day they are just as fascinating as of yore. The whole company is of a high order, there being a complete absence of “make weights.” Every member is an artist, and the combination results in a company which it would be hard to beat. Last night’s programme was a complete chaise from that of the previous evening, and its popularity was evidenced by the hearty laughter and loud applause which rippled through the audience during the whode evening. The Pierrots, thqugh possessing vocalists of rare merit., make a speciality of humorous items. Last night’s programme was full of these, and they undoifotediy delighted the audience. The humour was clean and bright, while the smallest details of sketches were admirably worked out. The solos and part singing were a rare treat, while the orchestra contributed in no small degree to the success of the performance. LAST NIGHT TO-NIGHT.
The English Pierrots will make their final appearance this evining, and we would sum up our advice to our readers and to others ‘‘The Pierrots should not be missed.”
