The Rev. R. S. Walsonfi whose health has been completely restored after a long rest in the South Island, has returned to Feilding. Sir Thomas Mackenzie, now on a quick trip to England, is expected to be in New Zealand again about. October. Lady Mackenzie is staying in Auckland.

Mr. T. M. Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, who is at present on a visit to America, expects to return to Wellington by the Marama, due on August 13.

A presentation was made last week by the teachers and pupils of the Ashbuiton High School, to Mr. S. P. McCallum, Rhodes scholar, who left Ashburton on his way to Oxford. The presentation, which was made by the headmaster, Mr. W. F. Watters, consisted of a gold watch, chain and medal with the school crest.
