TAXI-CAR OWNERS.

CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. A conference of delegates representing taxi owners throughout the Dominion is being held to-day with the object of discussing matters of mutual interest and forming a federation for all New Zealand. Mr. Waddle, of Wellington, is chairman. He said there was more money invested in the taxi-car business than whs generally understood, and it was one of the most important in-the Dominion. It was necessary that owners should be united. It was decided to take important, matters first for the purpose of presenting the case for taxi owners to the Minister. It was resolved that every person should be licensed annually, and that no driver should be under 18 years of age. It. was stated that in some places private owners had a right to go on the stand and ply for hire.
