AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.

HIS MAJESTY’S. LAST NIGHT TO-NIGHT. ANITA STEWART. To-night will be the last presentation of the fine picture, “Mind the Paint Girl” in which Anita Stewart is shown in practically two characters. Jl'irst she appears as the little slum girl in more or less ragged cali-co-dresses. Ignorant and untutored, yet she has a strong heart and battles her way among the roughs o£ the neighbourhood. Full of ambition to get out of the sordid neighbourhood. and to win to the better things of life, she applies for a place on the stage. After much discouragement she finally gets a place in the chorus. Then, through the accidental spilling of a bucket of paint, she gets an inspiration, and suggests “Mind the Paint,” to a composer. She is given the opportunity to sing it, and makes the hit of the season. Every woman will want to study the beautiful gowns to see the latest in styles and the perfection of their artistry. The supporting pictures are good, and tonight will be the last chance of seeing this fine programme, as to-mor-row night a complete change of programme will be screened, which will introduce another fine English feature. The plan is at Upton’s, so be wise and book early.
