JAPAN AND AMERICA.
WASHINGTON, July 29. The United States Government is closely watching Japanese relations and Japanese policy in the Far East, because of the effect on the questions involved in the recent withdrawal of American troops from Siberia, the signing of the consortium relative to Chinese financial aid, the assumption of control of the Chinese Eastern railway by the Japanese, and the Japanese occupation ot Saghlien. The British Ambassador took part in the conference with the Secretary .of State (Mr Colby) because of Australian and Canadian interests, in Chino-Japanese trade and the settlement of the Oriental Labour problem.
