WET OR DRY?

BELLAMY’S FATE. ; • ; (By Telegraph). [From Our Parliamentary Reporter] WELLINGTON, July 30. Considerable interest is being taken in the lobbies in the forthcoming vote on the sale of liquor in Bellamy’s. By the Legislative Act this is required to be taken in the first session after a General Election on the fourth Tuesday after the termination of the Address-in-Reply debate .in the House. This is next Tuesday. [Decision is come to by open voting by |the House, and Council and the issue is determined by a majority of the total votes. Though some voters are very keen on making Parliament “dry,” it is generally thought the majority will vote to maintain the existing state of affairs, seeing no reason why privileges should be disturbed until no-license is carried outside the House.
