LONDON QUOTATIONS. Received 11.5 p.m., June 13. LONDON, June 12. Rubber: Fine hard para, 2/1; plantation, first late crepe, 1/11 7-8 d; smoked ribbed sheet, 1/11 3-Bd. Jute: August-September shipment, £6O. New Zealand Hemp: Market inactive. March-May shipment, £54. Copra: Market quiei. Prices steady. June-August shipment £49. Linseed Oil: £B4 per ton. Turpentine 170/ per cwt. The recovery in tin prices is due to Dutch buying. STOCK REPORTS. Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Ltd., report:— At our Raetihi sale on 4th inst. we yarded 2500 sheep and 100 head of cattle. The bulk of the yarding consisted of ewes in lamb, which were somewhat bard to quit. Wethers and lamb sold well. Cattle sold in buyers’ favour. We quote:—4-tooth wethers 30/6; 2-tooth wethers 28/; mixed aged ewes, in lamb, 22/6 to 25/; sound mouth ewes, in lamb, 19/4 to 20/6; aged ewes 14/ to 14/2; culls 5/9 to 6/9. Cattle: 2-year steers £6 5/; 2 to 3-year steers £9 14/; 18months steers £5 to £5 5/; small 15nionths steers £3; cows in calf £8 15/; poor cows £3 10/ to £4; empty heifers £3 At Wanganui sale on 9th inst. we yarded 1900 sheep, 450 head of cattle, and 30 pigs. We had a good attendance of buyers and report a fairly good sale; sheep sold at ruling values, a fairproportion of the cattle being disposed of at no quotable change. Pigs in good demand. We quote:—4 and 6-tooth f.m. wethers 28/6 to 29/C ; 2-tooth wethers 27/6 to 29/6; empty ewes 16/6 to 21/6; light fat ewes 23/ to 26/6; forward ewes 16/7 to 21/; medium lambs 15/9 to 16/7; good lambs 22/1. On Thursday, 10th inst.. we conducted a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr K. O’Leary, Fordell. We had a fair attendance of buyers. The following prices were realised: —Best cows £l5 10/ to £l6; medium ditto £l3 10/ to £l4’ others £lO to £l3. On Friday, 11th inst., at Waverlev, we had a medium yarding of stock which sold readily. We quote: Good lambs -2/; b-tooth to f.m. forward wethers 30/ £x 15 //6; St ° re C ° WS 13 2/; 3 ' year N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hawera branch, report for * week ending 12th June:— On Monday at Kakaramea we had a small yarding of cattle. Bidding was very slack, consequently the sale was I dull. We sold on account of Mr F. W. Newton, farm implements and sundries at satisfactory prices. We quote:— cows £3 to £5 10/; empty heifers x.» l</6; 20-months steers (poor conditions) £4; dairy heifers £9 15/; 4-tooth wethers 35/4; 2-tooth wethers 26/6: draught mare £26; gelding £3O 10/. At Eltham on Wednesday we had a small yarding, this no doubt was owing to the present low market. We quote: Dairy heifers £l3 10/; store cows (medium) £4; weaner heifers (good colours) £3 3/; 15-months steers £2 2/; weaners £1 b, : 2 and 4-tooth wethers 33/6, lambs la/ to 24/4. We held our Hawera sale on Thursday, the advertised number of store cattle did not come forward. We had a very successful sale on account of Mr D. J. Willis, disposing of the whole of nis dairy herd at very satisfactory prices. We quote:—Fat and forward cows £6 to 9; stores £4 10/ to £5 15/; boners £3; 2_. 4 and f.f.m. empty ewes -0/6; f.m. empty ewes 16/. Farmers’ Co-operative report for week:— Y Sales —At Opunake yards on Monday, 7th inst., we report a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding was slow but practically. all stock yarded was sold. Dairy cows brought £9 and £ll 10/; lambs, small, 13/ and 14/3; empty heifers £5; bulls £5 7/6; weaner steers, good, £2 17/ ; 3 56-year forward bullocks £l3 15/. At Stratford on Tuesday we had a good yarding of cattle. Best cows brought to £lO 10/; light cows, good condition, £5 to £»7; boners at late rates; weaner heifers to £3 15/; weaner steers £1 a/ to £2. At Manaia on Tuesday we had a good Graziers were operating and bidding was more lively than at recent sales. We quote: Light store pigs £1 4/ to £1 17/; good lambs £1 3/; best cow's £lO to £ll 2/6; forward cows £6 1 c 6 to £8 15/; light cows and boners £o la/ to £6; empty heifers £6 15/; weaner steers £1 19/; do. heifers £2 13/; dairy cows £ll to £l2 10/; dairy heifers £9 to £ll. At Inglewood yards on Wednesday cattle and sheep came forward well and met fair demand. Lambs brought 19/9; cull do. 14/2; ewes in lamb 28/9; emptv ewes 19/9; cull do. 12/6; 6-tooth and f.f.m. wethers 27/10; beat cows £9 10 ; forward do. £6 18/; 18-month steers to £4 5/; 256-year do. £7 19/; empty heifers £6; in calf do. £8 a/; bulls £5 15/ to £l2 10/; weaner steers £1 4/ to £1 19/; do. heifers £2 16/ to £3; dairy cows £9 5/ to £l7 10/. At Auroa on Friday we had a good yarding wliich met fair demand. The whole yarding was sold at the hammer. Mixed 2-tooths £1 16/3; best lambs 26/4; do. lair 17/10; heavy forward cows £ll 15; to £l 7/6/ forward cows £7 15/; lighter sorts £5 12/6 to £6; boners £3 5/ to £4; bull, heavy for works, £10; Jersey bull £18; dairy cows £l2; weaner steers £1 13/6; weaner heifers £2 15/; on account estate L. Schmidt. 4-vear mare, % draught, £36; 4-vear do. £33; aged gelding draught £18; draught mare £1 5/ ; sundries sold well. Clearing Sales. —At Okaiawa on Wednesday we sold dairy stock and implements on account Mr A. Campbell. Dairy cows brought to £27 10/; implements and farm sundries sold well. On Thursday, at Waitara, conducted a clearing sale on account Mr W. J. Clare. Bidding came fairly well throughout. and report a good sale. Dairy cows brought £l2 to £26; Implements, sundries and timber brought full value. On Thursday at Riverlea we offered on account of Mr Geo. Gibson, his dairy stock and all farm implement. Bidding was not brisk, but we report a satisfactory sale. Dairy cows brought to £26 10/; sundries, etc., sold well. At Whakarama on Friday we report a very successful sale on account of Mr Jas. Potter. The dairy stock were brought in and handled without delay. The cows brought to £29, the herd of 60 cows averaging £l9; Holstein dairy heifers brought to £1.6; Jersey weaner heifers £5 6/; Holstein weaner heifers I £3 8/; sow and litter £6; % draught gelding £36; implement and sundries brought fujl value.
