Tlip War' Graves Commission staff r"s installed at Kilibi.hr, ten to fifteen miles from Anzac and Cape Helles. Colonel Hughes recently visited Constantinople md completed arrangements with the Turkish authorities to facilitate operations. Anzac will be the first spot treated. There are already between 40 nnd 50 burin! spots, also burial grounds at Helles. including all those in which Australians are buried. It will be five months before the roads are fit for motor traffic.
The whole scene is again ono of active Australian operations, an epilogue of the. tragedy of 1915, with the eccno swept dear'of all that was hide* ci:s; only the silent wooden monuments remaining. The trenches are overgrown with shrubs and flowers. It is hoped that next spring everything will be in readiness for those who arc able to •secure transport- facilities, to make the pilgrimage to GalHpoli.
