SNOW IN CHRISTCHURCH.

At 5 o'clock to-night, severe southerly squalls struck the city. After heavy hail snow set in and has been falling steadily ever since (7 p.m.). Already there is a thick coating of snow on the ground, and at present there is every jjidication of the snowfall being a very heavy one.
