RAETIHI STOCK SALE
Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report:—
At our usual Raetihi fortnightly sale on 6th inst. we had a very good yarding, some 2500 sheep and over 150 cattle being penned. The attendance was good and we report a very successful sale, only one small pen of sheep and one pen of cattle being turned out unsold. Taken right through the sheep yarded were of a good class and sold readily at prices in vendors favour. We quote: 4 and 6-tooth wethers 28/9 to 29/4; good empty ewes 23/1 to 23/2; others 17/1 to £1; poor conditioned ditto 14/3; aged ewes in lamb 17/10; good lambs 14/10; smaller sorts 12/6; culls 6/; aged wethers 24/6; fat and forward ewes 30/.
Cattle.—Good dairr cows £15 10/; others £10; heifers in calf £7 15/; 3-year bullocks £11 10/; 2%-year steers £9 7/ to £8 9/; 20-months mixed cattle £4 17/; mixed yearlings £3 7/6; cull ditto 28/.
Sundries.— Harness gelding £13 5/; hacks £5; trap £6 15/.
