"TARZAN OF THE APES."
AT HIS MAJESTY'S TO-NIGHT,
Elmo Lincoln, the physical superman, who wiiJ be remembered for liis iine acting in ''Intolerance/ takes the part o;- the grown-up larzan, the hero ot Edgar Rice Burroughs' well-known &tory, which is to be presented in spectacular picture form at ±lis Majesty's to-night and the two following evenings, under the direction •of Leo AY. Chateau's Intemationaf Attractions. The story takes the form ot a jungle melodrama in which every possib;o variety of thrill is said to^ be crowded into, a Robinson Crusoe setting. It follows the adventures of a youth who, when .lbaby, is stolen from his.mother by a huge ape, and brought up in the latter's native haunts. He is really the son of a nobleman in England, and a faith?-.il servant, who has escaped from a band of Arab slavers, returns to England and endeavours to restore him to his rightful position as t>eer of a wealthy estate. He is foiled at every turn by the false heir to the title, who is fmally reduced to defeat. Meanwhile the reiii heir is still in the jungle, where he spends his time getting the rescuing parties sent for his benefit out of their difficulties. In •one of thes? lights with the entire jungle, he saves a beautiful maiden from a ferocious lion, and a charming jungle romance quickly develops. Th** last reel closes with a sentimental fade-out in winch the unwitting heir finds that ignorance is bliss and that there are many other compensations for a title an'l estate in England. "Tarzan of the Apes" is claimed to be distinctly different m every way from any other conception known to picture patrons, and as such it is confidently, recommended by tho Fullers' proprietary. Fullers' Grand Orchestra ivill render special music. The box plan is on'view at Upton's Music Warehouse.
