QUARANTINE ACCOMMODATION

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 2 2

The Minister of Public Health is endeavouring to expedite the work required to enlarge the quarantine stations, and has requested the Chief Health Officer to report what has been done regarding the stations and how long it will take to get them into an efficient state. The officer has reported that the Public Wonks Department is pushing on the work at Motuihi, provision being made for the accommodation of 250 people, making the total capacity of the island 450. At Somes Island, hutments are to be provided, increasing the accommodation to 500.
