BRITISH ADVANCE ENDANGERS LILLE

NEW YORK, September 30. The United Press's London correspondent learns •>authoritatively that the Belgians liavo captured Pouters. The British have captured Gheluvelt and are nearing the outskirts of Menin, by which advance Lille is endangered.

Menin is a town in Belgium on the Lys River, about 11 miles to the northeast of Lille.
