THE LIBERTY LOAN.
ROMAN CATHOLIC SUPPORT.
CHRISTCHUKCH, August SO,
At the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Bishop Brodie, in hi 6 sermon, said he felt that Catholics would regard it as their duty to do what they could to further the success of the Liberty Loan. In placing, the claims of the War Loan before fcneii people the Catholic clergy was only doing what the bishops and clergy had done in other countries. In England the bishops took a most prominent part in similar work, while in France the bishops issued special pastoral letters to the people explaining their obligations towards providing finances necessary for the war. Those who were blessed with money to spare should feel themselves called upon to help these movements as an appreciation of the bravery and sacrifice of the New Zealand soldiers and as a mark of gratitude to God for the liberty aaid privileges enjoyed for which those eoldiers were fighting.
