The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report for the week ended Aug. 18: — Sales have been held at Himatangi, Apiti. Palmerston, Feilding, and a clearing sale at Bainesse oh account of Mr Legge.
At Himatangi on Monday we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep failed to make vendors' reserves, but cattle sold well. Quotations: F.m. ewes 20s; aged store cows £4; good *tore cows £7 IDs to £7 17s; forward cows £9 13s; yearling steers £4; guaranteed dairy cows £9 10s to £14; 2-yr. S.H. bull £9 ss; 2-year Jersey bulls £6 17s Gd to £7 ss; store pigs 20e, 225., 235.
At Apiti on Tuesday a small entry met with a poor reception, owing no cLoubt to the extremely rough weather, {springing heifers, £8 5s to £}0 los;. springing cows £10. -
At Palmerston on Thureday only a small yarding came forward and sold at late rates: Aged\ store cows £3 los t o £4 10s; store cows £6 5s to £8 9s; fat cows £9 10s to £10 15s;' guaranteed dairy cows £9 10s to £13 ss.
At Feilding on Friday, we had a heavy yarding.of sheep and a medium entry of cattle. Sheep'sold well, and we have to report a total clearance under the hammer. Small hoggets 18s 4d. medium ewe hoggets 23s 4d to 25s 6d; t medium wether hoggets 24s to 24s 6d; woolly wether hoggets (good)' 28s 3d; shorn wether hoggets (good) 29s to 30s 7d; fat ewes .37s 3d. Yearling heifars £3 10s to £4 10s; 15-monthe lieifers £6; yearling steei's (small) £5 4b; springing heifers £8 os to £8 10s; cows in calf £8 10b to £9 12s 6d; fresh cows £8 ss. /
