Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a very good entry of both sheep and cattle at their Taihapa sale on Wednesday, the 31st of January. Although the bidding was inclined to drag, vendors were in most cases inclined to accept prices offered, and a good clearance was effected. Quotations: — Cattle: Weaners £3 ss; 15-months heifers £3 17s 6d to £5; store cows £6 Is; fat and forward cows £9 los; 18-month steers £9 2s to £9 12s; 2-year steers £10 3s; 2-i- year steers £11 16s to £12 7s 6d; cows in calf £11 15s; fat cows £14 7s 6d; light fat bullocks £]6; fat bullocks £18 2s; heavy bulls to £14 30s.
Sheep:, Cull lambs 8s 6d to 10s 2d; shorn lambs to 16s 6d; aged store ewes 14s 8d; f.m. ewes to 20s; 2-th wethers to 30s; 4-toth fat and forward wethers 34s 3d; 4- and 5-yeax ewes 245; 2-th to 5-year ewes 29s 3d to 29s 7d; fat ewes 31s to 34s lid; f.f.m. Romney rams 3 gns.
