WOMEN STOPPED FROM VISITING

Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, 'made the following stauemeno to-day :—The . jattention of the Government has been drawn to the* large numoer of women who are leaving New Zealand at present for , the-' Mother Country, and if has been de-; cided that restrictions shall be imposed on thes«.in future. It has therefore; been decided .that in future passports ' shall not be issued to women except mi cases of exceptional necessity. The' policy of restricting the departure of men will be still further tightened also.
