MILITARY SERVICE ACT.

WELLINGTON, December 20. A conference to discuss the question of the repeal of the Military Service Act opened to-day. In a report to the Press the committee state that 80 delegates were present, representing 50,000 memcere of various labour unions, and federations, also other organisations. Mr J. Dcwgray, president of the United Federation League was elected chairman, and Mr P. Eraser, secretary. The. conference, which, is not open to the Press transacted only preliminary business this morning.
