THE MAHENO.

AUCKLAND, December 19. The Maheno returned with 370 officers and men, manj' of whom were wounded in the Sonorie advance. They tell stirring stories of gallant work by the New Zealanders- There are many marvels of surgery aboard, including one Maori with both his legs shot off, and replaced by artificial limbs. He is able to walk by the aid of sticks. The Maheno had been on the cross-Channel work, and tho staff have had many exciting experiences, including the witnessing of the bombarding of theTSouth Coast by Zeppelns, and the mining of oil ships. She has 95 patients for Auckland, 150 for Wellington, 70 for Port Chalmers, and 61 for Lyttelton. There are a number of very severe cases, but" the health of the men on the whole is remarkably good^
