DEADLOCK CONTINUES.
MSLBOURNE, jrovember 28. At the Coal Conference miners stated Li at .He Federation had given, order* that the mines should be kept in a condition for the immediate resumption of work; if intimidation was proved, the* would see it was discontinued immediately. The delegates stated th^ they were prepared to resume work if th« men wer> granted eight hours from bank to b.-nk. They would confer witk ■the proprietors and; endeavour to arrange working conditions and wages for the terra pf the war. Failing settlement witnin a month, they would submit to a Federal Tribunal without cmsation of work. " '
The proprietors, disagreeing with th« men a definition of bank to bank, refused to accept. The miners' representatives stated Hi at the Hon. Mr Hughes proposal wan iuis.itisfa-.tory.
