AT THE GROUNDS

The Carnival grounds looked very fine. Chinese lanterns and bunting gave the picturesque grounds a touch of gaiety which seemed, to happily harmonise with the' temper of the people. An enormous crowd- flocked through the entrance gates to the grounds, and when the programme commenced a gathering estimated at between eight and ten thousand had assembled.
