Mr Hoidsworth, manager of the Union Company, in a statement in eojnnection with the cargo trade with America, said the company had decided to initiate a regular two-monthly cargo service between Australasia and the Pacific coast ports of North America. The steauit-rs will carry refrigerated cargo, liie service will be four weekly

vice will be extended to four-weekly if trade warrants, but in previous pioneering work the whole of the space was not always availed of. - Arrangements have been made to charter a suitable steamer and two are being specialy built.
