HURRIED NEW ZEALAND TRIP

The Royal Artillery Band will play ;n His Majesty's Theatre, Wanganui, on Wednesday evening. The tour of the famous hand from Auckland, where it has been regularly playing at the Exhibition, Jo several other towns in New Zealand, is only a brief and hurried one. The tour required much planning out in order to provide concerts at as, many as ten towns within the time allowed for tihe journey, for the period could not he extended without seriously upsetting the Exhibition arrangements made lately. The extension of the band's leave, enabling the tour to be undertaken has provided- the people of New Zealand with a splendid opportunity, for the educational value alone of such, a band is very high. There nre often in a community a large number of people who do not even know if they have ever heard good music, until rsome performance of outstanding merit brings them conviction by its own superiority. .The hand plays in Invercargill this evening, and will leave for Wanganui direct to-morrow morning, arriving on Wednesday afternoon, and playing, in the evening. It has accomplished some very creditable travelling onthe present tour, which covers only three weeks, but embraces ten towns and provides over a score of concerts.

The box plan for the concert is row open at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son's, and ,sta!l tickets will be purchaseable fromi the same firm - From to-morrow morning. Special train arrangements have been made for the convenience of country visitors. A train will lenve Patea for Wanganui at 4.15. p-m. .on Wednesday for Wanganui, arriving here at 7.11 p.m., and leaving again for Patea at 10.30 p.m. Another train will come in from Marton, leaving that station at 5.20 and arriving'here at 7.25. leaving again for Martonya^. 10.1to'. ;. ? ;
