Mr. Harold Baker, in reply to Mr. Hunt, said ah alteration had been made in the specification for the supply of meat to the Army, fixing the aninimum weight of Australian forequarters at llQlbs; because it was found that the restrictions in regard to the removal.of flanks and brisket involved a larger reduction in weight than was expected; further, that of 7441b5. of irieat supplied by Borthwick's on October 4th, 3061b5. oh Nov. 30th were rejected as unfit for food on arrival. This was due to delayed t transit. Mr. Hunt asked whether Borthwick's were invited to tender. Mr. Baker replied that tender forms were issued to a large number of firms, including Borthwick's.
