SEVERAL"'-PERSONS ARRESTED.
(Times —Sydney Sun Soeeial Cables.) PARIS, Dec. 14. The police inquiry into the Montargis case constitutes amazing revelations. Letters and papers seized show" tlio agency's dealings with 15,000 women, who had come iii contact -with the agency by means of advertisements. There were agents in the provincial towns.
A man and two women accomplices have been arrested. Three houses belonging to the organisation have, been found in Paris. ■
A dead servant girl's case revealed to the police that women appeared to receive drugs through the post, and subsequently came to Paris to have an illegal operation performed. The Senate shortly is discussing n Bill regularising lying-in hospitals and making mid wives' complicity with abortion cases a criminal offence. It includes dealing with drug advertisements-and also those publishing recommendations. Abortion statistics reveal an alarming prevalence.
