FRIENDLY GAMES.

CHRISTCHURCH, September 13. The referees' match, Canterbury v_. Wellington, created much interest. The teams were drawn from the RefereesAssociations, and contained many old players more or less fit. Wellington only mustered half a dozen men, the remainder of the team being local men. Play was mostly in favour of" Canterbury in the early stages, but Wellington improved greatly towards the close, the final scores being Canterbury 14, Wellington 12. A match between teams representing Wellington and Christchurch Municipal Officers created much interest. After a. fast and exciting game the visitors won. by 13 to 15.
