OHRISTCHURCH, September 13. The annual inter-provincial football* fixture, Canterbury v. Wellington, \v»?» played on Lancaster Park. The weather was dull but fine and cold. There was a. capital attendance of tho public. Canterbury won the toss, ana half-time sounded with no score. Play was characterised by brilliant flashes by individual Canterbury players 3 and byi strong attacking and passing. Wellington strongly attacked in the second half, Henry scoring near the corner. Paton's kick went just outside. Shortly afterwards Canterbury were penalised. Wellington 6, Canterbury nil. Subsequently Canterbury scored a try, but there was no further score, and the game ended —Wellington 6, Canterbury 3.
